Ok, I’m gonna come right out and tell you that this chocolate mousse has AVOCADO IN IT.
YUP, AVOCADO. THAT’S THE DECEPTION. RUN NOW, YOU BIG AVOCADO-PHOBIC BABIES!
Or….give this a try. Not only is it a great “holy shit, I need dessert NOW, SCREW KETO” remedy, it’s also chock full of healthy fats (hi…it’s the avocado, keep up).
DECADENT DECEPTIVE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
Ingredients
8 oz Softened Cream Cheese (Philadelphia or whatever floats your boat)
¼ C cocoa powder (UNSWEETENED)
½ large avocado
⅛ tsp vanilla extract
2+ tsp of desired sweetener faux sweetener
¼ C Heavy Whipping Cream
Dark chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Beat together the softened cream cheese until for about 30 seconds on high in stand mixer or by using handheld mixer.
Slowly mix in the cocoa powder. Beat in the avocado and mix until creamy smooth, approximately 5 minutes.
Add the vanilla and faux sweetener and beat the crap out of it for about another minute and a half.
Set Aside.
In a separate mixing bowl, again using a stand mixer or a handheld electric mixer, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Place the whipped cream in the chocolate mixture
Gently fold until it’s incorporated.
Divide chocolate mousse into desired containers (bowls, ramekins, your mouth, whatever).
Garnish with dark chocolate shavings.
If you thought ahead, top with more whipped cream that’s mildly sweetened with a faux sweetener and a smidge of vanilla and THEN top with the dark chocolate shavings.
Yields about 8 “reasonable” servings (so really like 5 or 6 if we’re being honest)
